FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What ages are invited to First Student Ministry activities?
Students in grades 7-12 during the 2020-2021 year are encouraged to attend our activities, including Midweek on Wednesdays, Sunday School and any extra events we put on the calendar. You are welcome to bring friends who are also in these grades.
Who are the FSM leaders?
Pastor Chris Osterbrock oversees the youth ministry at First Baptist Church of Hamilton. He has a team of adults, various ages, who help him by being at all of the planned activities. The team often meets to discuss the leadership of FSM and how to best bring youth to Christ and encourage them to be disciples.
When does FSM meet?
The youth group gathers from 6-7 p.m. Wednesdays in the youth rooms on the lower level of First Baptist Church. Parents may drop off and pick youth back up, or FSM members who drive may do that. We ask that all youth in the building be at the youth meetings and not wandering in or outside of the building. Sunday School classes are at 9:30 a.m. Sundays.
How can I follow FSM online?
We have a public Instagram account, a public Facebook page, and a private Facebook group for parents. We also send emails and make "One Call" automated phone calls to reach parents and students with information.
How can I help?
We are always in need of more adults to serve with the students ministry. Please message Pastor Chris to talk about how you can be part of this exciting group at FBCH. We also will welcome youth ministry interns who work with their college advisers to become an intern at our church. We pay with course credit.
