Day 2 of Work

After working for just a day you can see that progress really is being made down in Cap-Haitien (I spelled it wrong in the other posts) Haiti. They have built and put up some of the trusses and may even finish that portion of things today; we will see tomorrow if/when we get another picture sent our way.

Yesterday they had a Spam and cheese lunch during the day and we are not sure what the menu was for the evening but we are positive they got some sleep. Please pray for relief from the weather as it will be about 101 degrees, without heat index, today and tomorrow. Also if you have been keeping an eye on the weather you know there is a tropical storm brewing in the Atlantic Ocean which may impact their arrival to Miami later this week. Pray for safe travels later on this week and I will keep you posted.

Work Site

Here is a picture we received from the team to give us a look at their work site for the time being.

As you can see they are pretty high up from the ground doing some truss work and possibly some roofing. Pray for safety as they work and for hydration as they battle the heat and elements. More updates to come so please check back often. Your prayers are important!

Team Haiti Update

Just wanted to update everyone on the latest we have received from team Haiti today. As many of you heard during the morning worship service they landed in Camp Haitian Haiti just fine yesterday afternoon but only 5 pieces of their luggage made the trip with them. They were also able to see the deep poverty and conditions the Haitian people leave in which broke the whole teams heart for the the people. This is one of the hardest trips the team could have done because of the plight of those they will be serving. We will hear more about this when they return.

At lunch this afternoon I received a message and a text stating “we went to church service this morning and upon returning found our luggage was with us.” Praise the Lord and we are grateful for the luggage to be brought to them. They were getting ready for lunch around 2pm our time. More updates to follow but please continue to pray.

On a different thought: Do you realize they were worshipping about the same time we were? How cool is that? Let me know if you have any questions and stay tuned for more updates.

Impact World Tour

Hey all I just got back from a gathering of local church leaders for the upcoming Impact World Tour. The tour will be coming to Butler County the beginning of October and for sure in the Hamilton, Ross, Talawanda, and probably Fairfield schools. Please take a moment to look at www.iwtusa.org and see what will be coming to our area.

Secondly, please be praying about how you can help out with the tour. We will need people to help organize food for at least on meal during the time the group is in, people to host individuals, individuals to be altar workers, fundraisers, etc. Please let me know if you are interested in helping with any of these areas, and more. I also hope to be bringing someone from Impact World Tour to our church sometime in August. We will also be hosting some training events in August and September to get ready for the Tour so don’t be afraid about not knowing how to do things because we will make sure you are adequately trained during these events.

Be God’s,

Red’s Games

Hey all just wanted to try and keep everyone informed on what is going on in the CREW. We are gearing up for a busy July so please check the calendars I handed out the other week. If you don’t have one please go online and download one from the parent resources section of www.firstbaptisthamilton.org/student. On July 14th I will need the money, $15, for the Red’s game we are going to the following week (July 21st). We will be leaving the church right at 6:15pm so please make note of that and have your teenager eat before they come. We will NOT be stopping for food on the way down. I expect to be back no later than 11:30pm that evening but it will depend on the game. The CREW will also be going to the Red’s Faith Day on August 1st. Cost for that is $10 per person and includes a concert by MercyMe following the game. The August 1st money will be due on July 25. You as parents are welcome to come with us on this outing so please just let me know. If you have any questions please let me know. I am also hoping to get in the practice of blogging on the church site, www.firstbaptisthamilton.org/student, beginning next week so check back often to see what may be new to you.
