So you wanna know a little bit more about me huh? Well for starters I am entering into my fifth year of doing ministry, with 4 of them being in youth ministry. I started out at a church in Springfield, Ohio as a junior high intern working with the newly separated junior high ministry. I had a blast there and it was during that time I started to fall in love with teens.
"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." ‑Galations 2:20
From there God allowed me to do music ministry in Hamilton, Ohio at a small church. I thoroughly enjoyed all my time there but God used it show me a couple things. One, never tell God you don't want to do something, in the end He always wins. Secondly, God showed me that music ministry was probably not something I would do for the remainder of my life, and I now say "Thank You God!!"
From there I made my journey back to Springfield, Ohio at a different church this time and did ministry with ages 3 up through college. This was a rich time of growth as I look back on it now. There are many things that God did there to show me who He is and what He wanted me to be. In fact, it was while there that God really cemented in my life the call to Youth ministry as something I wanted to do for a lifetime. It is my desire, and Lord willing, to be a 100 year old youth pastor. I right now can't imagine doing anything else and feeling the fulfillment and passion like I do for youth ministry.
Other than youth ministry I am learning to love reading. My favorite author is probably a tie between Ted Dekker, a fiction writer, and Philip Yancy , who writes mostly non fiction. This love for reading has not always been there, trust me. So there is still hope for you non-readers and those who want to read but can't seem to find the time. I am currently reading about 4 books including Mere Christianity by C.S Lewis. I am currently looking for a non-fiction book to read so if you have any suggestions please email me and let me know. You never know I may actually enjoy your suggestion.
I also love to work around my house. I don't always have the time or the energy but when I do you can catch me either outside doing landscaping or down in my basement trying to finish it.
When I am not doing one of those two things I try to cook. Yes, I do cook and actually do it very well. My favorite meal to cook would probably be pot roast with potatoes and carrots. So if you like that or just tired of eating something at your house just let me know and I would love to be able to cook for you.
If you want to know anything else please don't hesitate to contact me and ask away. Hope you have a blessed day and trust the Lord.
Be God's,
Pastor Jeremy
