Juliette's Hope (the women's ministry of New Life Mission) has been blessed with 3 safe recovery houses that they will be running in partnership with Modern Psychiatry and Wellness. The homes are located in the Lockland area, so the girls will need to be transported from the house to MPW for outpatient therapy and then back to Lockland. New Life Mission is in need of drivers Monday, Tuesday and Thursday for about 4 hours. They are also looking for a 15 passenger van or bus to use for transportation.
Again this year, our AWANA clubbers are doing their part to collect canned food and non-perishable food items for donation to the food pantry at Laurel Ave Church of Christ. Please join them in brining you items on Sundays until November 15! We will have a collection area for those who want to drop off anything near the Welcome Center outside of the sanctuary. Suggested items that are usually in great demand: canned tuna, tomato or chicken noodle soup, peanut butter, canned vegetables or fruit, and cereal.
A new year of MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) starts this month and we are in need of childcare helpers from 9:30 - 11:45 am for MOPS Steering Meetings (1st Tuesday of the month), Bible Study (2nd Tuesday of the month), and the monthly meeting (3rd Tuesday of the month). If you would like to volunteer, please contact Cathi Thomas or Heather Nguyen.
First Baptist Church has been invited to partner with First United Methodist Church in feeding lunch to the hungry at First United Methodist Church, 225 Ludlow Street from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 23rd. We are in need of 20 people to volunteer to serve in several capacities. Please sign the list on the bulletin board. See Mike Gipson for further details.
A new check-in/check-out system has been implemented for children grade 6 and under. Please remember to accompany your child to a check-in station upon arrival, hold onto your parent badge, and present it at the door of your child's classroom at pick-up.
The final Community Group Leader Training will be next Sunday, Aug. 6th, following the morning worship service, from 12 - 2:30 PM in Room 203-204.
On August 13th, Kit Ripley will be sharing her ministry in Thailand during the Sunday School hour (9:15-10:15 AM) in Room 200. All adults and youth are invited to attend.
The sixth annual community picnic organized by the City-Wide Faith Based Alliance will be Saturday, August 5th, from 12 - 4 PM. Come together for food, music, fun, games and worship for the entire family. The picnic will be held at the Booker T. Washington Community Center, 1140 S. Front Street. Everyone is invited to this free picnic!
Many odd jobs are available for those who would like to help decorate the sanctuary the week of July 3rd, move tables and chairs as needed on Sunday after worship on July 9th, be a greeter to help direct children on each morning of VBS, be on lunch crew for Friday at noon after closing program, etc. Please see Cheryl to get your place to help serve!
