Welcome to the Carpenter’s Hands Deaf Ministries at First Baptist Hamilton. Our Deaf ministries include a Sunday morning Sunday school class, interpreted Sunday morning worship services, a Wednesday evening Bible study, and various fellowship outings.

Our Sunday morning Sunday school class, which is led by Robert Williams, who is himself Deaf and also an usher, meets from 9:15 - 10:15 a.m. in room 207. The class is taught using a Sunday school curriculum, including books and a DVD series.

Our Wednesday evening Bible study takes place every Wednesday evening from 6:45 – 7:45 p.m. in room 207 and is led by Maria Miller (nationally certified and community interpreter). In these highly visual Bible lessons, we look at Bible teachings, discuss what they mean and how they can be applied to our daily lives. We discuss parables – stories Jesus used to teach a life lesson - Bible stories and specific verses. While the lessons are signed in American Sign Language, the class is geared to be practical, with much discussion of the meaning of the English words and idioms and their equivalent signs for a more comprehensive understanding of the text we are reading.

Various fellowship outings provide an opportunity for us to get together to relax and have fun. There are cookouts and parties at each other's homes, we attend Deaf Festivals, etc. Local community "Silent Dinners" are also well attended and take place the first Friday of every month at a different mall.
